100% solar powered AC runs all day! Here is a marvel of RV engineering three months in the making, totally unique in the world. Yes, thats right, solar powered AC and heat. The latest in off grid DC heatpump technology, DOT certified lithium iron phosphate batteries, MPPT charge controlling, four 50 volt 400 watt Trina solar panels wired in series produce 90 volts at the charger, plus a 30 to 12 volt array to serve the refrigeration etc. Its all totally automated and has run two years trouble free. Every circuit is breakered or fused. A total of 2000 watts of panels. There are three separate charging systems on board, one 48v MPPT to run the AC and two inverters, 1000+2000 watts, and a split 12 volt system to run the ICECO refrigerator and trickle charge the engine batteries. There is more power available than you can possibly use. There is a new GE large capacity washer (doubles as dirty clothes hamper, its huge),Sears vacuum cleaner, 48 volt reading light, running water on a marine demand pump, 3-stage filtered drinking water, restaurant style dining booth, butchers block counter and sink, E-bike storage area, pantry shelves, two bunks, one twin and one narrow twin size, they are raised about 3 feet off the ground on 3/4 marine plywood. There is room forward above for a third bunk. 20 gallon grey water tank for the sink. Tons of storage. All the interior structures are bolted into the original passenger seat mounts, so if you want to rearrange everything according to your wants its a cinch to take apart. As is, its sort of an open floor plan, the most practical layout. A midway door could be installed. The shower is a marine, outdoor style. As a blue water sailboat captain, its a habit to carry three months of stores and water. 75 gallons of water can last you 3 months if you are careful and you pack some 5 gallon drinking water. The three stage filter makes Mexican water potable. The floor is the original grey linoleum and for practicality, really can’t be beat. Some throw rugs and you are set. The whole ceiling and body is insulated with foam from the factory. Some vinyl wrap graphics of your choice are an option, especially on the windows. There are 5 windows per side, with 10 opening slides, and a top hatch with mosquito screen. Many of the big windows open on hinges, also. Entrance is through the electric door on the passenger side. No extra handicap door. 12 speaker high watt JVC CD stereo really cranks. A TCL smart TV and DVD player in the back. You can screencast to the TV from your phone or connect directly to WIFI hotspot. Truly a land yacht of epic proportions. Brakes are antilock 4 wheel disc with about 3/4 pad. There is a pneumatic parking brake. The master cylinder is new. There is also onboard a stock 32,000 BTU Carrier air conditioner that runs off the engine that was a very expensive option. It was designed to keep 32 passengers cool. You can run the Hotspot Energy solar AC system at the same time if you want. Keeping cool in Florida or Mexico is not a problem. The solar system runs ALL DAY (and about 5hrs at night) even when its a bit cloudy. It knocks the humidity out of the air pretty quickly because its a relatively small space. Thats a total of 44,000 BTU of capacity. The Hotspot unit is a minisplit, the condensor fan housing is located underneath behind the rear axle and is totally invisible and silent. It heats very well also. If you so desire, the diesel tank is located right under the dining booth area which could house a small diesel heater with ease of installation. This is literally an Alaska to Mexico vehicle. I have clocked 800 miles on one tank of fuel. Mileage will be between 10-15MPG depending on terrain and speed. I drove across the country and into Baja California two times. A lot of extra things onboard if you are interested, a full set of tools of every kind, pots, pans, 5 extra solar panels, fishing gear, an extra Engel 12/24v fridge, let me know what you need. Speaking of capacity, the rig has a tow rating of 30,000 lbs. It makes 800ftlbs of torque. Thats not a misprint. You could tow a 4 racecar trailer, yacht, or an entire other RV behind you. That being said, there is no tow package installed. The vehicle has never been used for towing, yet. The model number of the bus chassis is FB65, which is essentially the same as an M2 Freightliner. M2’s are so common on the road no one gives you a second look. Its really a “dog-nosed” 3/4 turtletop shuttlebus, an uncommon size. Parts are available at Oreilly’s, etc. All parts are very common and very inexpensive. The 7.2 CAT motor is known to run for a million miles. The engine and transmission combination are essentially indestructible. There are around 15 grease points on the chassis to hit every 10,000 miles along with the oil and filters. I am happy to coach you on your maiden voyage, but its all pretty foolproof. Hit me up with questions at nine two eight, three eight zero, four to eight zero. I have all the manuals and service records and other documents. “Bus 18″ has a lifetime of use left in her. Travel with comfort, confidence and high style! More photos coming soon of the interior. The interior height is around 6’4″. Two or three people can travel in comfort. A few of you have inquired about ground clearance and off road capability. In Mexico I navigated some TERRIBLE and steep roads. The dually rear keeps you out of the ruts. Jeep tracks are navigable, even relatively sandy beach roads. There are tow straps onboard. Airdraft (height overall) is 10′ 4”. The drivers seat is brand new. It is a six way adjustable captain’s chair with adjustable armrests, that is “air-ride” pneumatically height adjustable. It absorbs road shocks for you so you drive stress free. The rear suspension is also air ride. The VIN# is correct I’m not sure why it does not show history. No accidents. It was rigorously inspected every year for commercial passenger use.
