Evelution is a Bob Evelyn designed, trophy winning custom ocean racer commissioned in 1982. The only one of its kind in the world! Sheâs a well laid out boat for full-on racing âboth distance and âround the buoys, and also great for casual sailing with friends with her sprawling flush deck, which makes her truly unique. Symmetrical Spinnaker. Sleeps 8. PHRF rating: 69. LOA: 41.12â² Beam: 13.71â² Draft: 7.4â² ***Deck hardware leaks in several spots causing inside cabin-top veneer to delaminate. Non-skid deck gelcoat is cracked or chipped off in many places and has a few soft spots. She’s SAILABLE AS-IS & THE ENGINE WORKS! She has beautiful lines and the flush deck is awesome. Standing headroom inside too.The bottom is in good shape, but needs paint (2 gal of bottom paint are included). The main issue is the leaking deck hardware and hatches as I mention above. I posted a lot more pictures of Evelution on her website under the “more pics” tab at the top here: https://quikiks.wixsite.com/evelution. You can see the water damage/buckling veneer on the ceiling in many of the shots, but the fiberglass deck above is still pretty solid. I pulled off the ugly, peeling white wall and settee covering that was in the main cabin exposing the raw fiberglass or wood and started painting the port side with Flexseal, but didn’t finish. I have about 1.5 gallons left for the job.The engine works ok, but due to either a weak battery or voltage drop between the batteries and the engine (or both), it is difficult to cold start from the cockpit and I go down into the cabin to start it from a switch at the engine. She has an unusual layout in this regard in that the batteries are in the area behind the companionway steps, but the engine is in the forward V-berth (to counter balance crew weight) -so it’s a long electrical run.The electrical and water systems need work too. P.S. Evelution has quite a history -She was $250K without sails when she was custom commissioned in 1982 by a soon-to-be-convicted drug dealer who loved to race yachts. Bob Evelyn himself and Bob Hall (of Hall Spars) campaigned the boat up and down the East Coast that first year with the owner. Then the owner got arrested and the boat seized by the DEA. The Coast Guard Academy learned of this hot new race boat getting seized and convinced the DEA to donate it to them for training with the cadets. The Academy raced it for a few years before selling it to a sailor who raced her on Long Island Sound for a number of years. I have had her for the past 20 years and lightly sailed her -doing a race here and there, but mainly day sailing. I know she needs a lot of work, but I think it’s a great deal for the right person. Let me know if you have any more questions or would like to schedule a visit. Priced for a quick sale. Evelution is wintering on land on City Island, NY. EVELUTION EQUIPMENT LISTHullRed topsides.
