This Boston Whaler, Evinrude 90 HP motor and trailer are up for auction due to a mechanic’s lien filed in the state of Illinois for unpaid storage. Up for auction, is a 1964 Boston Whaler 16′ Montauk, a 2008 Evinrude 90 HP E-TEC, and an aluminum trailer (it was previously titled in the state of Illinois as a 2008 homemade, so we are not sure of the actual year of the trailer). The boat was brought to us in the spring of 2018 for storage and has been sitting here unused since then. We have not started the motor since it has been here and are unaware of what kind of condition it is in. Because this boat is not ours we are not able to take the shrink wrap off and take more pictures or check out the motor. We did notice on the trailer that brackets for the axle assembly that hold it to the frame do have cracks in the metal. The winning bidder will be issued a Mechanic’s Lien Affirmation showing he/she is in compliance with Illinois state law. For Illinois residents Ahlstrand Marine will fill out and send in the needed forms, however, the winning bidder will be responsible for sales tax and title & license fees for registering in Illinois. An out of state winning bidder will be issued the Mechanic’s Lien Affirmation and pay the required sales tax. Registration of the boat and trailer in states other than Illinois will be the responsibility of the out of state winning bidder. Ahlstrand Marine 1300 Town Line Rd.
